Questions

What is a reef ball?

A hollow, dome-shaped structure made of marine-safe concrete. Placed on the sea floor, it becomes habitat for coral, fish and other marine life. Your loved one's ashes are mixed into the concrete when it is cast.

How much of the ashes are used?

We can use whatever amount you would like.

Where is it placed?

On a permitted artificial reef site in the Gulf off Sarasota. Your location marker includes the exact GPS coordinates.

Can we visit the site?

Yes. The coordinates are yours to keep, and the sites are reachable by boat.

How long does the process take?

Casting and curing takes about four weeks after we receive the ashes. Placement is scheduled around weather, usually within two weeks after curing. We confirm each date with you.

Can I be there for the placement?

Yes. For $50 we either record a video of the placement for you to keep, or video conference you in live. You can also attend in person; contact us and we will arrange it.

Why don't you charge for shipping?

It doesn't feel right. We want to make this easy and affordable for people and we figured you're going through enough and don't need a hidden fee, too.
